Colts Expected To Take QB With Fourth Overall Pick
2 years agoThe Indianapolis Colts feel tons of pressure to take a quarterback with their highest draft selection (No. 4 overall) since 2012. Their issues at the position have lingered for too long after Andrew Luck retired, and if they're desperate enough, they could even trade up to No. 3 overall to take a signal-caller they really like. While general manager Chris Ballard could trade up, ESPN's Matt Miller writes there's also considerable chatter that they won't trade up for a QB if Alabama's Bryce Young and Ohio State's C.J. Stroud are off the board by pick No. 4. In any scenario, it seems likely the Colts will leave the first round with their future starter under center, even if they don't trade up. According to sources close to the team, Kentucky's Will Levis is currently ahead of Florida's Anthony Richardson for the Colts because Levis is more likely to be able to play immediately.
