Mason Miller Wows In Historic Debut
Oakland Athletics RHP prospect Mason Miller made his major league debut Wednesday against the Chicago Cubs. He got charged with the loss after pitching four-and-a-third innings and allowing two runs, but his elite fastball was on full display. The 24-year-old touched 100 mph 15 times, only the 10th player to reach that mark in the Statcast era. His four-seamer was elite with an xBA of .087 on 51 pitches. However, his cutter had a .675 xBA on 11 pitches. The Creighton product's talent will carry you to success in roto leagues, but a terrible Oakland offense will depress his value in points leagues.
