Seahawks Not Expected To Take QB With No. 5 Pick
2 years agoThe Seattle Seahawks may be checking in on the top quarterback prospects in this year's draft class, but a source in Seattle said to expect defensive line help over a signal-caller at No. 5 overall next Thursday night. However, it's highly unlikely that Alabama pass-rusher Will Anderson Jr. or Georgia's Jalen Carter will be available at that selection. The Seahawks also love Illinois cornerback Devon Witherspoon if the top pass-rushers are gone at that point. Although it might be tempting for Seattle to take a top QB in the top 10, it would mean passing on their best chance to add badly needed difference-makers on defense. The Seahawks are also low on salary cap space and cash, so it would be an inefficient use of precious financial resources to take a QB at No. 5
