Jose Butto Could Be Called Up For A Spot Start
2 years agoNew York Mets pitching prospect Jose Butto won't make his scheduled start on Friday for Triple-A Syracuse. According to Anthony DiComo of MLB.com, he's an option to start a game during the Mets West Coast trip coming up. Butto likely won't stay in the rotation and will just let everyone else get some extra rest. The 25-year-old currently owns a 1.86 ERA with eight strikeouts and five walks across 9.2 innings in the minors this season. Butto made his major league debut in 2022 and posted a 15.75 ERA, but only pitched four innings. Fantasy managers will likely want to stay away from the right-hander, who would likely be on a short leash even if he gets the call.
