2 years agoThe Oakland Athletics placed outfielder Seth Brown (oblique) on the 10-day injured list (retroactive to April 9) on Monday and recalled infielder Kevin Smith from Triple-A Las Vegas in a corresponding move. Brown injured his oblique over the weekend and will now miss at least a bit of time. On top of the injury, the 30-year-old left-handed hitter had gone only 6-for-30 (.200) with two doubles, a home run, two RBI, two runs scored and a stolen base in his first eight games of the season. With Brown sidelined for now, the A's will turn to the likes of Conner Capel and Brent Rooker to fill their opening in left field. Capel is likely the better option in AL-only leagues, as he'll likely see most of the playing time as a left-handed hitter against right-handed pitchers.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
