Kevin Harvick Doesn’t Think Dirt Racers Have Huge Advantage At Bristol Dirt
2 years agoThis weekend's race at Bristol Motor Speedway is a bit different than normal, as the NASCAR Cup Series will be racing on dirt for the third time ever. Prior to the 2021 season, NASCAR decided to turn Bristol Motor Speedway into a dirt track, which has made many people within the industry believe that drivers with a dirt racing background have a significant advantage in the race. Kevin Harvick doesn't necessarily agree, though. When recently asked about any such advantage, Harvick stated, "It's just not as much like what those guys do. Obviously, they can look at the racetrack and tell easier when it's ready to move up a lane, and they have a little more confidence to pass. But in the end, Cup regulars have won both of these races, so I think that tells you how much more it's like what we normally do than what a lot of people thought it might be." Harvick specifically has struggled in the Bristol Dirt races, finishing 15th and 34th in his two starts here. He qualified 26th for Sunday night's Food City Dirt Race.
