Joe Musgrove Begins Rehab Assignment
2 years agoSan Diego Padres right-hander Joe Musgrove (toe) began his rehab assignment with Triple-A El Paso on Wednesday. He went 4.1 innings, allowing two earned runs while striking out six. Musgrove is trying to work his way back after injuring his big toe in the weight room during the spring, but he'll likely need at least one more rehab start before returning. Last year, the 30-year-old was phenomenal, posting a 2.93 ERA, 24.9% strikeout rate, and 1.08 WHIP with 10 wins over 30 starts. Fantasy managers should be excited to have Musgrove back so he can once again be a four-category contributor, and this news is very encouraging.
