James Outman Steals His First Base
2 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers outfield prospect James Outman went 0-for-1 with a walk and his first stolen base in Sunday's 2-1 loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks in the four-game series finale. Outman didn't start the game with a lefty on the hill for the D-backs, but he entered the game as a late defensive replacement. The 25-year-old entered the year as LA's No. 9 prospect, per MLB Pipeline, and he's gone 2-for-7 with a home run, two RBI, three runs scored, a steal, three walks and three strikeouts in the early going in his first four games. Outman certainly has stolen base upside -- he had 23 thefts in the minors in 2021 -- so fantasy managers in deeper leagues should take notice. However, playing time will be difficult to come by on a stacked Dodgers team.
