Deandre Hopkins Granted Permission To Seek Trade
2 years agoArizona Cardinals wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins has been given permission to speak with other teams regarding a possible trade. The veteran wideout is seeking a new contract and the Cardinals don't appear to have any interest in giving it to him. Hopkins is entering his age-31 season, but still has plenty left in the tank. He finished with 64 receptions, 717 yards, and three touchdowns in nine games last season. It seems like a down year for Hopkins, but he was forced to miss the first six games of the season due to a suspension. There is no doubt that Hopkins can still perform at a high level. However, organizations are likely hesitant because of the fact that Hopkins wants a new contract. The Cardinals are unlikely to get a significant return in any Hopkins trade due to the fact the other team would have to sign Hopkins to a new deal. This is likely a saga that is going to carry on throughout the offseason.
