Albert Duraev Holds Off Opponent In Tight Split Decision
2 years agoIn a closely contested middleweight battle on Saturday's main card, Albert Duraev did just enough in the eyes of the judges to earn a split-decision win over Chidi Njokuani (29-28, 28-29, 28-29). In 15 minutes of action, Duraev out-struck Njokuani by landing 45 significant strikes compared to his opponent's 40. After a first round that saw the striker against grappler style, the last two rounds didn't go to the mat, with Duraev controlling the volume. The win moves Duraev to 2-1 in the UFC and gets him back in the win column.
