Ty Gibbs Starts A Respectable 17th On Sunday
2 years agoTy Gibbs knows driving week-to-week at the top level is tough. Gibbs turned in some pretty quick practice laps. However, the Joe Gibbs Racing driver ended up 1.53 seconds short in qualifying behind William Byron on Saturday. That was good for 17th place. Gibbs has raced on COTA in the Xfinity Series. In the race last year, Gibbs began in 15th and guided his car to victory. He showed an ability to negotiate thru traffic even in a 46 lap race. How does that translate at the top level? That's a great question. It all comes down to how Gibbs negotiates traffic on Sunday.
