Tony Jones Jr. Signs One-Year Deal With Broncos
2 years agoFormer New Orleans Saints running back Tony Jones Jr. signed an undisclosed one-year deal with the Denver Broncos on Thursday, according to a source. Jones played in just six games last year between the Saints and Seattle Seahawks and had just 10 carries for 24 yards and five receptions for 30 yards. In the previous two seasons for the Saints, he combined for 57 carries, 155 yards and no touchdowns while adding five catches for 29 yards through the air in 12 games (five starts). Jones could have a slightly bigger role early on behind Samaje Perine for Denver if Javonte Williams (knee) isn't ready to go, but even in that scenario, Jones won't have much fantasy upside. The Broncos could also add to the position in the draft, which would further bury Jones on his new team's depth chart.
