Garrett Mitchell Dealing With Hamstring Tightness
2 years agoMilwaukee Brewers outfielder Garrett Mitchell (hamstring) was removed from Thursday's Cactus League game against the San Francisco Giants "for precautionary reasons with right hamstring tightness." There are no plans for Mitchell to undergo an MRI exam, though, and he's being listed as day-to-day. "I don't think you'll see him for a couple of days. I think we'll know tomorrow what's going on for sure, but at this point it doesn't look like that big of a deal. I can give you a better answer tomorrow, but that's what we're thinking/hoping," manager Craig Counsell said. It sounds as though the 24-year-old will be fine for Opening Day. Mitchell hit .311 in his first 28 big-league games in 2022, but he also struck out 28 times in 68 plate appearances. He will be given every chance to be Milwaukee's regular center fielder this year.
