Oswald Peraza Back In Grapefruit Lineup Thursday
2 years agoNew York Yankees shortstop prospect Oswald Peraza (leg) is back in the team's Grapefruit League lineup on Thursday against the Boston Red Sox and right-hander Nick Pivetta, and he's starting at shortstop and batting seventh in the lineup. The 22-year-old injured his left leg last week and has been held out of the spring lineup since. He's still expected to break camp as the Yankees' starting shortstop on Opening Day, but fellow prospect Anthony Volpe is making things interesting. Peraza has gone 2-for-9 with a stolen base and two runs scored in four Grapefruit League games after hitting .306 with a homer, two RBI and two steals in his first 18 major-league games to close out 2022. He has a high floor, but fantasy managers will need to preach patience in single-year leagues in 2023.
