Jacob Markstrom Logs His First Shutout In Shootout Victory
2 years agoCalgary Flames goaltender Jacob Markstrom picked up his first shutout of the season on Tuesday as the team played out a rare 0-0 tie with Minnesota before winning the game in a shootout. He had 40 saves and made one more stop in the shootout. The Swedish netminder became the third goalie in franchise history with multiple 40-save shutouts. Markstrom has struggled for consistency throughout the campaign and will hope to post only his second three-game winning streak in his next outing. He carries a 17-17-8 record and has registered a 2.89 goals-against average with a .893 save percentage.
