Lamar Jackson Expected To Be Franchise Tagged
2 years agoBaltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson is likely to get the franchise tag ahead of Tuesday's deadline. The two sides have been discussing an extension for roughly two years and still haven't come to terms on a deal. The 26-year-old quarterback is seeking more than the $230 million that Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson received. At this point, the expectation is that the Ravens are going to place a non-exclusive franchise tag on Jackson. That means, he'll be allowed to discuss potential contracts with other organizations. The Ravens would have the option to match any potential deal or lose him in exchange for two first-round draft picks. The dual-threat quarterback is one of the best in the league, but it remains to be seen what other organizations are willing to pay him.
