D'Angelo Russell Says He Won't Play Friday

Los Angeles Lakers guard D'Angelo Russell (ankle) told reporters that he won't be playing in the team's game against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday. After going through a workout earlier in the week, the pain in his sprained ankle flared up. Right now, a tentative return date could be Sunday against the Golden State Warriors, but Russell wasn't going to make any promises. Look for Dennis Schroder and Malik Beasley to get more opportunities in the starting five while Russell remains sidelined.
