Kyle Hendricks To Throw Next Friday
2 years agoChicago Cubs starting pitcher Kyle Hendricks (shoulder) said he will throw a touch-and-feel bullpen session next Friday, which will be his first time off a mound since his injury. He said he will likely need three to four of those bullpens and estimates he's roughly a month behind his normal schedule. It's why the Cubs expect him to miss the start of the regular season. The 33-year-old right-hander was shut down last August with a capsular tear in his right shoulder. The soft-tosser hasn't been very good the last two seasons and has never been a strikeout guy for fantasy managers. Hendricks will come at a discount price in fantasy drafts in 2023, but those in shallow mixed leagues can probably avoid him for now.
