C.J. Uzomah Unlikely To Be Cut
2 years agoNew York Jets tight end C.J. Uzomah saw a significant drop in usage during the second half of the season. That being said, it would make sense that he would be a possible cut-candidate with Tyler Conklin as the primary tight end. Heading into next season, Uzomah is set to make $8 million, which seems like too much for a backup tight end. Sadly, the Jets would have to eat $11 million in dead money, assuming they did cut him. The 30-year-old finished with 21 receptions for 232 yards and two touchdowns in 15 games. The Jets will likely keep Uzomah around as insurance or seek a trade partner this offseason. He could have fantasy value in the right system.
