Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Jung-hoo Lee Could Be Posted
2 years agoJapanese starting pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Korean outfielder Jung-hoo Lee will both be competing in this year's World Baseball Classic, and there is a strong belief among MLB teams that they will both be posted by their international clubs after the 2023 season. It will ultimately be up to Yamamoto's Orix Buffaloes and Lee's Kiwoom Heroes as to whether the two players are posted. Yamamoto has won the Japanese version of the Cy Young the past two years and doesn't have much left to prove in Japan. He doesn't turn 25 until Aug. 17. Yamamoto has elite stuff, but he stands at just 5-foot-10. Lee hit .349 last year with 23 home runs and 66 walks against 32 strikeouts. But some officials have questions as to whether his power will translate to the big leagues.
