Charlotte Hornets guard/forwards Gordon Hayward (hamstring) and Cody Martin (knee) have been ruled out Wednesday against the Houston Rockets. Both Hayward and Martin were listed as doubtful so their absences are not too surprising. However, Hayward was seen getting up shots pregame on Wednesday and may be slowly nearing his return. Jalen McDaniels will continue to start and is coming off a season-high 26 points.--Dale Johnson

Oklahoma City Thunder forward Gordon Hayward will be moving on this offseason following a disappointing stint with the team, and the Denver Nuggets might be a possible landing spot for him. Nuggets insider Harrison Wind has noted that he knows there are people within the club who are "fans" of Hayward. The 34-year-old was limited to 5.3 points in 17.2 minutes with the Thunder but started the season reasonably well in Charlotte. He could still do a job in a suitable situation. However, Hayward's play has steadily declined in recent years, and it looks like his days of being a reliable fantasy option are over.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

Oklahoma City Thunder guard/forward Gordon Hayward has expressed displeasure with his role on the team. "Disappointing with how it all kind of worked out. Certainly frustrating," Hayward said. "I feel as a player, I have a lot to offer. Just wasn't really given much of an opportunity to do that. I thought I would be given that opportunity." After the Thunder traded for Hayward in February, the former All-Star averaged just 17.2 minutes per game with the team and saw even less action in the playoffs, logging 47 minutes across seven appearances. Hayward will enter unrestricted free agency this offseason after completing a four-year, $120 million deal.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

According to OKC head coach Mark Daigneault, forward Gordon Hayward (calf) won't debut for the Thunder until after the All-Star break. Fortunately, it appears the veteran is nearing a return to the court after missing well over a month while still with the Charlotte Hornets. But at least there is light at the end of the tunnel for fantasy managers, even though it could take Hayward some time to get acclimated to things with his new team. The 2010 No. 9 overall pick has been a top producer throughout his career, averaging 15.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 3.6 assists. He's battled injuries over the years, diminishing his fantasy stock. But Hayward could carve out a routine role in the lineup and make a difference for fantasy managers, even if he's nowhere close to the player he once was.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBaller

Charlotte Hornets forward Gordon Hayward (calf) has been traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN. The veteran forward joins a Thunder team stacked with young talent and will attempt to be a veteran presence to help them through the end of the season and the playoffs. In return, the Hornets received Tre Mann, Davis Bertans, Vasilije Micic, and draft compensation. Hayward still hasn't played a game since Dec. 26 due to a calf strain, but he seemed to be trending in the right direction after head coach Steve Clifford said his return was on the horizon. His return will now come with a new team, and it doesn't seem likely that he'll receive a heavy workload like he did in Charlotte.--Alex Fischbein - RotoBaller
