Joshua Dobbs A Bargain DFS Option
Joshua Dobbs could be a sneaky DFS play in a single-game contest, as he costs just $9,000 on DraftKings. That price tag makes him just the fifth-most expensive player in the game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, which is great value for a quarterback. Sure, Dobbs is only making his second career start, but the Jaguars have allowed the sixth-most DraftKings points to quarterbacks this season, and Dobbs does have at least some rushing upside. In traditional fantasy leagues that extend to Week 18, he's an easy stay away since he's an unproven fantasy asset.

Joshua Dobbs With Two Passing, One Rushing TD In Week 18
Joshua Dobbs had a fantastic fantasy performance during a 47-24 loss to the Cardinals in Arizona. The 29-year-old backup to Brock Purdy (right elbow) completed 29-of-43 attempts for a career-high 326 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions. He added eight carries for 17 yards, including another touchdown on a sneak. His first touchdown throw was a six-yard dart just before halftime to rookie wideout Ricky Pearsall on a slant. Later, he hit a wide-open Kyle Juszczyk down the left side for a 36-yard score. Dobbs will be a free agent this offseason and comments made to the press on Thursday about Sunday's lone start of 2024 representing an "audition not only for the team that you're on, but for the other 31 other teams" make it seem unlikely he'll be back in Northern California next year.

Joshua Dobbs A QB2 In Week 18 With Rushing Upside
Joshua Dobbs is set to make his only start of 2024 in a Week 18 matchup against the Cardinals in Arizona. The 29-year-old will fill in for starter Brock Purdy (right elbow), as he did for a few plays at the end of last week's loss before scoring a rushing touchdown. Dobbs made his most recent start in Week 14 of 2023 with the Minnesota Vikings, as San Francisco opted for Brandon Allen when Purdy missed Week 12 of this season at Green Bay with poor results. Dobbs made some noise in fantasy last year, averaging 15.7 Yahoo default points per game with Arizona and Minnesota. He went over 20 points five times in 13 games -- driven mostly by rushing touchdowns -- but went out with a whimper with the Vikings, failing to reach five points in his final two starts. The Cardinals are the 12th-toughest defense to opposing fantasy quarterbacks, but they've allowed five rushing touchdowns to quarterbacks -- the fifth-most in the NFL. "The Pass-tronaut" is a QB2 in Week 18, but could be a sneaky-good DFS play for those who choose to spend big at other positions.

Joshua Dobbs Starting In Week 18
Joshua Dobbs will get the starting nod against the Arizona Cardinals this weekend. Dobbs came in for relief late in Monday's game when Brock Purdy (elbow) sustained an injury. The team is opting to lean on the side of caution with Purdy and will let their backup QB start under center in their final game. On his lone drive on Monday night, Dobbs tallied a seven-yard rushing score with 35 passing yards. When Purdy missed time earlier this season, Brandon Allen got the start, but now the coaching staff will turn to Dobbs. Dobbs is worth a look as QB2 in all formats, as he does carry some rushing upside in this matchup despite facing a tougher Arizona defense that has allowed the seventh-fewest PPR points to opposing QBs.

Joshua Dobbs Sharp In Relief On Monday
Joshua Dobbs was sharp in relief on Monday evening. He went 3-for-4 with 35 yards and added seven yards and a score on his lone rushing attempt. Dobbs came in to relieve Brock Purdy (elbow), who suffered an injury on their final offensive drive of the game. Dobbs connected with Jauan Jennings twice, once on a 15-yard strike, and the other on a nine-yard pass. His other completion went to his tight end, George Kittle, for 11 yards. Dobbs would then rely on his legs to punch in the seven-yard score in the red zone. When Purdy missed time earlier this season due to a shoulder injury, Brandon Allen was given the No.2 role; however, it appears that Dobbs now holds that spot on the depth chart. If Purdy cannot play in Week 18, Dobbs will likely get the starting nod and could be worth a look as a deep league streaming option and a value play in DFS against the Arizona Cardinals.
