Jerami Grant Shines Against His Former Team
2 years agoPortland Trail Blazers forward Jerami Grant showed the Pistons what they are missing Monday, racking up a game-high 36 points in a 135-106 win over his former team. His very efficient shooting meant that Grant was able to produce his second-best scoring performance of the season in just 28 minutes. He finished 12-for-17 from the field and had a 5-for-8 record from outside. However, the limited action didn't allow Grant to do much else, with him collecting only two rebounds and one steal. Damian Lillard's presence isn't great for anyone looking to put together a big scoring performance in a Blazers jersey, but Grant has now hit the 30-point plateau twice in the past three games. He had a huge year a couple of seasons back with Detroit, but the 28-year-old is actually doing even better during his debut campaign in Portland, averaging a career-high 22.4 points with superb 44.6-percent shooting from deep.
