Desmond Ridder Offers Limited Upside
2 years agoAtlanta Falcons quarterback Desmond Ridder has started the past two games after riding the bench for the first 13 games this season. In his two starts, the rookie has averaged only 157.5 passing yards and 8.6 fantasy points per game. Yet, the former Cincinnati Bearcat had a solid performance last week against the Baltimore Ravens, throwing for 218 passing yards. While he hasn't scored a touchdown this season, Ridder hasn't committed a turnover either. This week he faces the Arizona Cardinals. They have surrendered 18.1 fantasy points per game to quarterbacks this season, the eighth-most in the NFL. However, they have held quarterbacks to only 8.8 fantasy points per game over the past three weeks. Ridder only belongs in fantasy lineups as a desperate QB2 option.
