Carson Wentz Throws Touchdown In Return
2 years agoWashington Commanders quarterback Carson Wentz completed 12-of-16 passes for 123 yards and one touchdown in Saturday's loss to the San Francisco 49ers. There were rumors entering this game that Wentz would make his return to the field if fellow quarterback Taylor Heinicke struggled. That eventually led to the former Indianapolis Colt taking the field in the fourth quarter after Heinicke had two straight drive-ending turnovers. The 29-year-old looked solid in relief even though he was playing against softer coverage late in the game. Judging by head coach Ron Rivera's eagerness to bring Wentz back into the game, it wouldn't be surprising to see him start their next game against the Cleveland Browns in Week 17.
