Giancarlo Stanton To Play The Outfield "In Spurts"
2 years agoNew York Yankees manager Aaron Boone said that he sees Giancarlo Stanton playing the outfield "in spurts" next season. Boone prefers to use Stanton in right field at Yankee Stadium on days when Aaron Judge serves as the designated hitter. Stanton could also play left field in other ballparks. The 33-year-old right-handed slugger has mostly been a designated hitter for the Yankees. He played in 38 games in the outfield last season, but none of those games came in the second half of the season. In addition to Judge, the Yanks also have Harrison Bader (center field), Aaron Hicks and Estevan Florial who will see time in the outfield. Stanton should already be outfield eligible in most fantasy leagues, so this news shouldn't affect his fantasy value heading into 2023.
