2 years agoThe New York Yankees signed infielder Jamie Westbrook to a minor-league deal on Saturday. Westbrook spent the 2022 season toiling in the minor leagues for the Milwaukee Brewers and Detroit Tigers. In 123 games for Triple-A Nashville and Triple-A Toledo, Westbrook slashed .254/.353/.382 with a .736 OPS, 11 home runs, 48 RBI, 58 runs scored and one stolen base in 511 plate appearances. He has spent nine seasons in the minors and has yet to reach the big leagues to this point in his career. The 27-year-old will represent organizational depth for the Yankees in 2023. In his nine minor-league campaigns, Westbrook has hit .277/.338/.427 with a .765 OPS, 99 home runs and 499 RBI in 993 games played.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
