2 years agoThere has been chatter around the Los Angeles Rams facilities that includes the sense that wide receiver Tutu Atwell has bought in more to the behind-the-scenes work required of his position over the last few weeks. He's being utilized with more variety by the Rams, and it helps that both Cooper Kupp (ankle) and Allen Robinson II (foot) are done for the year with injuries. In training camp, much of Atwell's success came on play-action concepts, but the Rams mostly moved away from play-action when head coach Sean McVay rebuilt the offense under quarterback Matthew Stafford. But Stafford is also hurt, so the Rams have gone back to QB-friendly play-action. Of the 58 routes Atwell has run in the last four games, 29 of them have been play-action concepts. He's also shown more confident at the catch point and caught a career-high five passes for 50 yards in last Thursday's win.
