Yankees Expected To Make Formal Offer To Carlos Rodon
2 years agoThe New York Yankees have opened talks with free-agent left-hander Carlos Rodon, and a formal offer is expected to be delivered on late Monday or on Tuesday. Rodon is believed to be seeking seven-plus years at $200 million-plus. The Yankees seem reluctant to go that length, but they are very serious and are hopeful about their pursuit of the best remaining pitcher on the open market. There's been some talk linking the Yankees and free-agent shortstop Carlos Correa, but it's clear that Rodon is their main focus. Rodon has also received interest from the Giants, Cardinals and several other teams after back-to-back All-Star seasons. The Yankees believe Rodon, who is from Miami, prefers the East Coast. The Rangers, Orioles and Twins also checked in on the 30-year-old southpaw.
