Luka Doncic Matches Wilt Chamberlain's Scoring Streak
2 years agoDallas Mavericks point guard Luka Doncic joined the legendary Wilt Chamberlain as the second player in the NBA to score 30-plus points in nine consecutive games to begin a season. He had 36 points on 11-for-22 shooting in Monday's 96-94 win over Brooklyn. Doncic shot 5-for-9 from downtown and collected six rebounds and six assists with two steals, one block and five turnovers in 38 minutes. The Slovenian sensation is on an incredible tear and is averaging a league-high 36 points per game. However, with Wilt being Wilt, Doncic is still miles away from posting the all-time record for the best season-opening scoring streak. Chamberlain opened the 1962-63 campaign with 23 consecutive 30-point outings.
