Van Jefferson Makes No Impact In Return

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Van Jefferson was not targeted in his return from the injured reserved, a 14-31 loss to the San Francisco 49ers. Jefferson had knee surgery during training camp that ended up requiring a longer recovery time than initially reported. In his first game back, he played 31 snaps, fewer than Cooper Kupp, Allen Robinson II, and Ben Skowronek. Analysts who hoped he could jump A-Rob on the depth chart would be disappointed. Kupp did roll his ankle in the fourth quarter and appeared later with it taped. He downplayed the injury. But even if it does cause Kupp to miss time, that wouldn't necessarily be good for Jefferson. He would move up one spot on the depth chart, but the Rams offense would slow down. Van Jefferson will get another chance to make an impact in Week 9 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
