DeVonta Smith Quiet During Week 8 Victory
2 years agoPhiladelphia Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith caught five of his eight targets, gaining 23 yards, during the team's 35-13 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers. Teammate A.J. Brown was dominating on the outside in this game, scoring three times from over 25 yards out. Smith also took a significant loss on a pass that was behind the line of scrimmage and should have had closer to 40 total yards than 23. Still, he was targeted eight times, his third-highest of the season, so there is no reason to worry about him due to this poor performance. Smith will travel to Houston to face the Texans this Thursday night. Houston has not given up a ton of fantasy points to the wide receiver position, but Smith should still be considered a solid FLEX option, at the very least, in Week 9.
