Melvin Gordon III Doesn't Do Much With 13 Touches

Denver Broncos running back Melvin Gordon III got the start in the Week 7 loss to the New York Jets and led the backfield with 11 carries, but he gained just 33 yards (3.0 yards per carry). Gordon caught two of his four targets in the passing game, gaining 17 yards. A week after being benched for apparently no reason after just three carries, he led the backfield on Sunday but had just three more carries than Latavius Murray, who had the Broncos' only touchdown of the afternoon. Gordon should remain the team's lead back moving forward, but Murray will continue to be involved and could vulture more goal-line work in the league's worst offense. It obviously doesn't give Gordon much fantasy value, especially if quarterback Russell Wilson (hamstring) misses another game in Week 8 against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
