Tony Jones Jr. Inactive In Week 4
Tony Jones Jr. is a healthy scratch for Week 4 against the Minnesota Vikings in London. Even with Alvin Kamara (rib) inactive, Jones didn't leave enough of an impression to earn a spot on the gameday roster. Mark Ingram will lead the Saints' backfield while Taysom Hill, Dwayne Washington, and Latavius Murray also figure into the mix.

Cardinals Release Tony Jones From Injured Reserve
Tony Jones (shoulder) from injured reserve with an injury settlement, according to Howard Balzer of CardsWire. Jones had injured his shoulder during the final week of the preseason and was placed on season-ending injured reserve. However, now that he was released with a settlement, Jones immediately becomes a free agent and is technically free to sign with any team. Teams will wait until he's fully healthy before making any sort of deal, but at least there's now a chance for him to suit up again this season, rather than spend the whole year sidelined. Jones had 132 scrimmage yards and two touchdowns in 2023, and he remains nothing more than a depth piece on NFL rosters. He should be avoided in all fantasy leagues.

Tony Jones Injured, Loses Ball In Loss To Broncos
Tony Jones (shoulder) took seven carries for 29 yards in Sunday's preseason finale. He also caught two passes for 14 yards. The Cardinals went to the fourth-year veteran early and often, getting Jones a touch on five of their first seven offensive plays. Jones was knocked out of his final audition for the team early when he suffered a shoulder injury after getting tackled in the second quarter. Broncos linebacker Justin Strnad's blow also knocked the ball out of Jones's possession, the first of two red-zone turnovers committed by Arizona in the game. James Conner is locked in as the Cardinals' starting running back with rookie Trey Benson drafted to be his understudy. Even if Jones makes the final 53-man roster on Tuesday, he will not have the opportunity to provide fantasy value and can be ignored.

Tony Jones Jr. Elevated To Active Roster
Tony Jones Jr. has been elevated to the active roster ahead of the Week 11 matchup against the Houston Texans. The Cardinals are without Emari Demercado (toe), so Jones has been added to the roster as insurance. However, Jones is unlikely to have a big role in the offense with James Conner back in the picture. This season, Jones has 85 rushing yards on 23 attempts with two touchdowns in six games. He could see a few snaps on Sunday, but it probably won't be enough to warrant streaming Jones in any fantasy formats.

Cardinals Add Tony Jones Jr. To Active Roster
James Conner (knee) still on Injured Reserve and rookie Emari Demercado (toe) having not practiced this week due to a toe injury, the Cardinals promoted Tony Jones Jr. to the 53-man active roster from the practice squad on Thursday. Jones was claimed on waivers from the New Orleans Saints on Oct. 9 and was cut nine days later, only to resurface on Arizona's practice squad. He hasn't played yet for the Cardinals, but in four games with the Saints, he had 70 yards on 21 carries and four catches for 21 yards while finding the end zone three total times. If Demercado is unable to play in Week 9 against the Cleveland Browns, Jones could serve in a change-of-pace role behind Keaontay Ingram.
