Kawhi Leonard Will Be Eased Into Action To Begin 2022-23

LA Clippers small forward Kawhi Leonard (knee) has been cleared to play in 5-on-5 action during the upcoming NBA preseason, but that doesn't mean he will be a full-go to begin the year, per Clippers president of basketball operations Lawrence Frank. Leonard missed all of the 2021-22 year as he recovered from a torn right ACL, which he sustained during the '21 playoffs. Frank expressed "we will be very cautious and take a methodical approach," to Leonard's rehab, which could mean the 31-year-old will face some extensive early-season restrictions, along with potentially resting at least one leg of back-to-backs. DFS managers can continue to target Leonard when cleared -- he has averaged 26.2 PPG over his last 169 regular-season games -- although season-long managers will have a more difficult time calculating his overall output.
