Byron Buxton Tallies Two Hits In Loss To White Sox
2 years agoMinnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton went 2-for-4 with a triple in the team's 12-2 loss to the Chicago White Sox on Thursday. July hasn't been kind to the 28-year-old thus far. This was his first multi-hit outing of the month. He's carried an ugly .128/.196/.383 slash line across 11 July games while striking out 18 times. It's been a weird year overall for Buxton. His 23 home runs are tied for seventh-most in the majors and he ranks in the 95th percentile in average exit velocity (92.7 mph) and in the 96th percentile in barrel rate (16.2%). However, he's batting just .212 with a 10th percentile strikeout rate (29.3%).
