Byron Buxton Dealing With A Knee Injury
2 years agoMinnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton (knee) was held out of Wednesday's game against the Cleveland Guardians due to a right knee injury. Twins manager Rocco Baldelli stated that Buxton "couldn't move around well enough" to play in the game while adding, "He wasn't going to be able to produce out there based on the way he felt." Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com also reported that Buxton had a "pretty heavy wrap" on his right leg as he walked out of the clubhouse after the game. The team has been regularly resting Buxton this year, but his absence on Wednesday was more injury-related than rest-related. He's had ongoing problems with his right knee, so it's especially concerning to see the issue flaring up again. He should be considered day-to-day with a chance to sit out Thursday's series finale against the Guardians as well.
