Alec Burleson Slashes .357/.388/.592 In May
2 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals outfield prospect Alec Burleson had a fantastic month of May at Triple-A Memphis. He slashed .357/.388/.592 with five home runs, eight doubles, 24 RBI and 16 runs. The 23-year-old is rated as the team's 10th overall prospect by MLB Pipeline. He's known for his ability to make contact consistently and avoid strikeouts. He's only fanned 26 times over 180 plate appearances this year. The Cardinals have an exciting farm system that has already graced us with MLB debuts for Nolan Gorman, Matthew Liberatore and Juan Yepez this year. Burleson seems likely to be the next hitting prospect to get the call for the team, but it's unclear when that will happen and it may require an injury or two to the Cardinals' current outfield unit.
