The Milwaukee Brewers have placed shortstop Willy Adames (ankle) on the 10-day injured list with a high left ankle sprain. The move is retroactive to May 16. Adames first suffered the injury this past Sunday. The team was taking a few days to see if he could avoid a stint on the injured list, but evidently he wasn't healing fast enough. The 26-year-old will now be out until at least the middle of next week. Luis Urias should continue to serve as the team's primary shortstop with Adames out while Jace Peterson and Mike Brosseau handle third base duties. The Brewers called up infielder Keston Hiura to take Adames' roster spot.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller

San Francisco Giants shortstop Willy Adames went 3-for-5 with a double and two home runs in Sunday's 9-3 win over the Colorado Rockies. He scored twice and drove in three while striking out twice. The 25-year-old has been heating up in recent days after starting the season off on the slower side. Adames' homers were both solo shots, accounting for San Francisco's first runs of the game. In his next at-bat, he scorched a double to the gap in right-center, driving in his third run. All three of his knocks were hard-hit balls that exceeded 101.5 MPH. After just four extra-base hits through last Tuesday, the veteran shortstop has recorded five over his previous six games. He's also picked up three multi-hit efforts over that span.--Alex Ciulla

San Francisco Giants shortstop Willy Adames went 1-for-3 with an RBI and a sac fly in his team's 6-5 win over the Milwaukee Brewers on Thursday. He added a single and a walk. San Francisco was trailing 5-4 entering the bottom of the eighth, but was able to force Brewers pitcher Tyler Alexander into long at-bats and eventually scratched out the game-winning run on an Adames sac fly to shallow left -- scoring teammate Christian Koss. He's had trouble getting going at the dish, hitting .202 (21-for-104) with four doubles, one home run, 12 RBI, 13 runs scored, and one steal. The 29-year-old has picked it up as of late, though, registering at least one hit in five of his last six appearances.--Alex Ciulla

San Francisco Giants shortstop Willy Adames went 3-for-7 at the plate with three RBI during their victory over the Seattle Mariners on Friday afternoon. Adames would bring in his first run on an RBI double in the fifth inning, which scored LaMonte Wade Jr. Later in the 11th inning, Adames would deliver the winning hit as he knocked a two-run single to right field, which scored Luis Matos and Tyler Fitzgerald. This was a nice outing for Adames as he held a modest .130/.192/.174 slash line with just one extra-base hit across his first six games in the Bay. Last season, the 29-year-old enjoyed a career year in Milwaukee, posting a .251/.331/.462 slash line with 33 doubles, 32 long balls, and an impressive 112 RBI, which was the second-highest total in the NL. Adames will look to stay hot on Saturday, facing Seattle right-hander Bryce Miller.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller

According to Jeff Passan of ESPN, the San Francisco Giants have signed free agent shortstop Willy Adames to a seven-year contract worth $182 million. This is the largest contract in their team's history and the third-largest guaranteed contract earned by a Dominican-born player. The 29-year-old enjoyed an excellent campaign last season with Milwaukee as he posted a strong .251/.331/.462 line with 32 home runs and 21 stolen bases. He added a career-high 121 RBI and 33 doubles. Under the hood, Adames generated an excellent 12.0% barrel rate with a .461 xSLG which was both significantly above the average marks. In addition, he posted a 10.2% walk rate, which placed him in the top 80th percentile among hitters. Fantasy managers should expect the power-hitting shortstop to bat in the heart of the San Francisco lineup, which should provide him with ample RBI opportunities. Given his ability to contribute to all five standard categories, fantasy managers should see him as a high-end shortstop entering the 2025 campaign.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller
