3 years agoThe Detroit Tigers placed starting pitcher Michael Pineda (finger) on the 15-day injured list on Sunday. Outfielder Victor Reyes (quadriceps) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list in a corresponding move. This move comes as no surprise. Pineda fractured his right middle finger during Saturday's start against the Baltimore Orioles after being hit by a comebacker. Pineda has been pitching well for the Tigers this year, posting a 3.22 ERA and a 1.07 WHIP over five starts. It's unclear exactly how long he'll be out, but we'd expect the team to be without him for a minimum of a month or so. Alex Faedo will make another start on Monday, but the team has yet to announce who will start this coming Friday's game, which Pineda was originally slated to start.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
