J.D. Davis Hit By Pitch, Leaves Wednesday's Game
3 years agoNew York Mets third baseman J.D. Davis (ankle) was removed from Wednesday's game against the St. Louis Cardinals. He was hit by a pitch in his left ankle/foot area. He first attempted to hobble over to first base, but couldn't make it and was taken out of the game alongside a trainer. Jeff McNeil came on to run for him. Davis is celebrating his 29th birthday on Wednesday, so it's certainly unfortunate timing for him. He should be considered day-to-day until we know more. The Mets are luckily off on Thursday, so he'll have an extra day to recover.
