Justin Turner Goes 0-For-3 In Tuesday's Loss
3 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers third baseman Justin Turner wasn't able to get anything going at the plate in Tuesday's 3-1 loss to the Atlanta Braves. He went 0-for-3 with a strikeout in the game. The 37-year-old is hitting .225/.311/.275 over 11 games this year. He has only two extra-base hits so far, both of which were doubles. The sample size is of course small, but there are a few alarming underlying stats for Turner in the early going. Across 30 batted balls, he has yet to record a single barrel. Additionally, his 87.2 mph average exit velocity ranks in the 30th percentile and his .316 xSLG ranks in the 19th percentile. The veteran is hitting in a prime spot in the heart of the Dodgers' lineup, but he'll need to start making better contact soon in order to pay dividends for fantasy managers.
