3 years agoThe Los Angeles Angels placed shortstop David Fletcher (hip) on the 10-day injured list on Tuesday. He suffered a left hip strain during Monday's game against the Miami Marlins and had to be removed from the contest. The Angels called up infielder Andrew Velazquez from Triple-A on Tuesday and he went on to start in Tuesday's game. He batted ninth and went 0-for-3 with a pair of strikeouts. Velazquez should see a good amount of playing time while Fletcher is out, though the team could also potentially shift Tyler Wade or Jack Mayfield over to cover shortstop.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
