X-Rays Negative On Jordan Montgomery's Leg
3 years agoNew York Yankees starting pitcher Jordan Montgomery (leg) was hit in his left leg by a comebacker off the bat of Xander Bogaerts in Sunday's game against the Boston Red Sox. The incident happened in the first inning of the game. The left-hander appeared to be in a great deal of pain, rolling around on the ground after the play. He was observed by trainers and he wound up staying in the game, pitching a total of 3 1/3 innings while allowing four hits, one walk and three earned runs. Luckily, X-rays on Montgomery's leg after the game came back negative and manager Aaron Boone stated that all initial indications were "encouraging." As of now, Montgomery is slated to make his second start of the year on Friday against the Baltimore Orioles.
