Jarren Duran Optioned To Triple-A
3 years agoThe Boston Red Sox optioned outfielder Jarren Duran, along with Ronaldo Hernandez and Connor Wong, to Triple-A Worcester on Sunday. Duran made his major league debut in Boston last year, but he'll head back to the minors to kick off 2022. He struggled in his first taste of big-league pitching last year, hitting .215/.241/.336 with a 35.7% strikeout rate in 33 games. But Duran was solid at Triple-A, slashing .258/.357/.516 with 16 home runs, 36 RBI, 46 runs scored and 16 stolen bases in 283 plate appearances over 60 games. MLB Pipeline's No. 85 overall prospect should be back with the Red Sox at some point in 2021, and the left-handed hitter is the best athlete and their fastest runner in the system.
