Texans Signing Kyle Allen
3 years agoThe Houston Texans are signing former Washington Commanders quarterback Kyle Allen to an undisclosed one-year deal on Wednesday. Allen's one-year deal is believed to be worth $2.5 million. Allen became an unrestricted free agent this year when he was non-tendered by Washington. The 26-year-old played in just six games (four starts) for Washington in the last two seasons and went a combined 72-for-106 for 730 yards, five touchdowns and one interception with a QB rating of 99.2. In his final season with the Carolina Panthers, Allen really struggled with 17 touchdowns and 16 interceptions while throwing for 3,322 yards in 13 games (12 starts). With Deshaun Watson likely to be traded this week, Allen will presumably back up second-year QB Davis Miller in 2022.
