BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
CALL-UP ETA: In Majors
ANALYSIS: With Joe Ryan (shoulder) landing on the injured list 10 days ago, the Minnesota Twins called up their No. 5 prospect, Zebby Matthews, to take his spot in the rotation. Matthews then made his major league debut on August 13, where he threw five innings of two-run ball against the Kansas City Royals.
Matthews looked solid in his first career start this past week, striking out five and giving up five hits with zero walks. Given the severity of Ryan's injury, it appears the right-hander will stay in the majors. As a result, he should be added in most 12-plus team leagues moving forward. The 24-year-old also has a two-start week upcoming in Week 22 of the MLB season.

He is set to face the San Diego Padres on Monday and the St. Louis Cardinals over the weekend. That makes him an even more appealing option in weekly formats. Matthews had a 2.60 ERA and 114 strikeouts across 97 innings pitched in the minors this year, so the upside is there for him to be a consistent fantasy option for the rest of the year.
