Winning your fantasy football league is about more than hitting on your first-round pick. You have to make sure you're making the right calls later in the draft as well to build depth for your roster.
Two running backs being drafted near each other right now in the later rounds are Zamir White of the Las Vegas Raiders and Rhamondre Stevenson of the New England Patriots. Both are ranked as low-end RB2s and you're likely going to have a moment during a draft where both are on the board and you need to choose one.
Which running back should fantasy players draft in 2024? Let’s dive into it.

Zamir White 2024 Fantasy Football Outlook
With Josh Jacobs now in Green Bay, the Raiders are set to turn to Zamir White as their lead back with Alexander Mattison backing him up. Considering how Mattison looked as the starter for the Vikings last season, White should dominate the touches in this backfield, assuming he stays healthy and continues to build on his strong play from last season.

In his second NFL season, White carried the ball 104 times for 451 yards and one touchdown. It might not sound like much, but remember that he played behind Jacobs for much of the season. 397 of those yards came over the final four games of the year with White starting. In those four games, he averaged 21 carries for 99.3 yards as well as 2.3 receptions per game.
Rhamondre Stevenson 2024 Fantasy Football Outlook
The old saying goes that you should never trust a Bill Belichick running back in fantasy, so does that mean with Belichick finally gone from New England, you suddenly can trust the Patriots backs?

Maybe, but presumptive starter Rhamondre Stevenson will have to hold off the talented Antonio Gibson for snaps. Stevenson averaged 51.6 rushing yards per game last season for the Patriots, while Gibson had the worst season of his career last year for the Commanders. Gibson still was heavily involved in the passing game, catching 48 passes for 389 yards. He'll play a role in this offense, even if Stevenson gets most of the early-down work.
Who Should I Draft in Fantasy Football?
Both of these players are in similar situations, as they're talented players who have some competition behind them but should be able to fend off that competition. Stevenson has a longer track record but also has more injury concerns. Both players are also likely to suffer a bit from the game script, as they play on teams that will likely be behind a lot in the second half and will be forced to throw the ball.
With that said, White is the slightly more intriguing fantasy option. While he's a bit more of a mystery than Stevenson, he comes into the season with a larger talent gap between him and his backup. Plus, he showcased his productivity at the end of the 2023 season.
