BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 15% of leagues
ANALYSIS: Yordan Alvarez has yet to reach the major leagues, but he's generating a ton of buzz in fantasy circles. The Astros' prospect entered 2019 with a career .301/.381/.507 minor league line and is absolutely laying waste to Triple-A right now, hitting an absurd .402/.490/.931 with 12 home runs and 62 R+BI in just 24 games for Round Rock. He's not a great runner or defensive outfielder, but when you can mash like he has been lately, you don't need to do much more.
The Astros are chugging along in first place in the AL West as usual, and all three of their starting outfielders (George Springer, Michael Brantley, and Josh Reddick) are currently hitting the snot out of the ball. However, all of those veterans have had their share of injury issues over the years. Even if they all remain upright, if Alvarez keeps hitting like this, it may be tough for the Astros to keep handing DH at-bats to Tony Kemp and Tyler White.
Alvarez's ownership rate has steadily ticked up over the last few days, but you can still add him in over 80 percent of Yahoo leagues. He's arguably the best prospect stash in the game right now.
