BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 6% of Yahoo! leagues
ANALYSIS: The Diamondbacks finally made the decision to remove struggling veteran Greg Holland out of the closer role, choosing to go with the dreaded committee approach.
The majority of saves will likely go to Archie Bradley, Yoshi Hirano or Yoan Lopez. Lopez has the best numbers out of the group, with a stellar 2.72 ERA and 1.00 WHIP in 43 innings pitched. Of course, that comes with a scary 4.36 FIP and a less than impressive 6.49 K/9.
Bradley has the typical closer style, and Hirano has closing experience, but both are struggling with command this season, making Lopez an appealing speculative add for those who think he might earn that gig in the near future, or those in holds leagues who could use a reliever who can stabilize their ERA/WHIP numbers and might earn a save or two.
I wouldn't target him in shallower formats, but he's worth a look in deeper leagues.
